South Central Wisconsin Council of Home Inspectors - Purpose Statement

Please take a close look at the purpose of our home inspection association.

The South Central Wisconsin Council of Home Inspectors, Inc. is a nonprofit organization comprised of home inspectors who are dedicated to promoting professionalism in the home inspection industry through group dynamics and accountability. The council provides an avenue for two way communication between the inspectors and people outside the industry.

The council members are committed to continuing education and have set their educational standards higher than required by State law.

They also share up-to-the-minute inspection information with each other through their private, home inspection internet forum. The SCWCHI inspectors understand that staying abreast of the many changes which affect the housing industry is very important to Realtors and those purchasing properties. We feel that you will find our members very knowledgeable in their profession.

The SCWCHI inspectors also provide educational programs, presentations and articles for the Dane County Housing Authority, the Realtors Association of South Central Wisconsin and independent financial organizations. SCWCHI also supports and sponsors fund raising events to help people purchase homes. The council members listed in this web site are registered as professional home inspectors with the State of Wisconsin and will provide home inspections in accordance with the Standards of Practice established by the State. Each of these inspectors has been formally trained and is well qualified to provide you with a comprehensive, visual inspection of your property together with a written report. Some of the inspectors can also provide other types of inspections such as energy weatherization or environmental testing, at an additional fee. You should call your inspector or visit their company web site to learn of these additional services.

We encourage you to call more than one inspector when you need an inspection. Talk to the inspectors about their qualifications, pricing and scheduling availability. Then make your decision on the inspector that best suits your needs.
